![]() ![]() There are different variations of ELO, but you're essentially proposing that something like: You're also stating you want how these calculations are made to be put on each of the games here, so that you will know ahead of time you're going to lose 40 points if you come in last place. If you'll look around, it should be easy to find some of these threads. And there's plenty of argument already here about applying something meant for a 2 player game to multi-player games. Carcassonne does have a randomness factor, but all players have to deal with that same randomness and over the long term, it should work itself out. There's already lots of threads on how well ELO works (or doesn't work). You are both making a complaint that ELO isn't appropriate for all the games on here like it may be for Chess. You first need to decide what you are looking for. (The two other places I play don't do skill scores based on your score in the game either.) You could win/lose by just a tie, or by 50 points, and the ELO gain/loss will be the same, so I've always figured it'll even itself out over time. due diligence and all that.Īnd it's not affected by your score in the game, no. If you want to understand site-wide issues, read the FAQs and look around the site for more information. It's the same for every game so it's a "site-wide" thing, and not a "per-game-thing." Furthermore, unless you're seriously familiar with how the math works, you still would not have known you would lose 40 points. The logic in not putting it at the beginning of the game is because it's not related to the game itself. ![]() If I know that for last place I can lost 40 points I wouldn't play. If it is only based on ranking it shoult be presented on the beggining game (before accepting). I dont understand why sometimes i lost so many ranking points even i lost by 1 point in game. ![]() Is it connected only ranking ? or also points from game?
